How to Access Your Squarespace 7 Site

The Squarespace platform is super user-friendly when you get the hang of it. That's one of the huge advantages it has over Wordpress. But "getting the hang of it" is easier said than done! So what happens when your web designer hands over a beautiful, shiny new site, and you realize you have no clue how to edit it? Or even access it for that matter?

Take a deep breath. Team Muno is here to help.

So..How do I access my Squarespace site?

You can view your Squarespace site from the "outside" in either of two ways:

1) Via the built-in domain that comes with all Squarespace sites. For example, ours is

2) Via a custom domain you or your web designer bought (from a domain provider such as Google, Namecheap or GoDaddy) and connected to your site. Ours is

To access the "inside" of your site (home of the editor, settings, etc.) you will need to first log into Squarespace.

Login Option 1 ( Regular):

Go to (on your computer, not phone) and click "login" in the upper right corner. Then enter your email and password.

And you're in!

You're officially "inside" your Squarespace site. Let the fun begin.

Login Option 2 (Cool trick):

You can log in to your site by opening it up in your browser and hitting the escape key (ESC) on your computer keyboard.

Pressing the Escape key will take you to the Squarepace login screen,  or shrink the site's frame to reveal the editor if you're already logged in.

Many users (including us!) find this option super-quick and helpful. But if you find it annoying, you can disable escape-login by going to Settings → Advanced → Escape Key and unchecking the circle next to "enable login with escape key".

And that's how you access your Squarespace site!

Wait, help! I logged into Squarespace but don't see the right site! What do I do?

Don't worry, your site hasn't disappeared. You probably just have multiple sites affiliated with your Squarespace account (perhaps a trial version you forgot you signed up for?) and the one you want to see isn't showing up upon login.

No problem.

In your side menu, you will see at the bottom that there is a little circle containing an avatar (or photo of you if you've uploaded one) above your name.

Just click on that circle, and all the sites affiliated with your Squarespace account will appear!

The site highlighted in white is the one you are currently viewing. Click on one of the others to open that site instead!

Easy peasy.

So that's how you access your Squarespace site! Try it out and if you have any questions, let us know in the comments. We want this resource to be as helpful as possible, and we don't believe in "stupid questions." :-)
